From 1977 the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee of the Council had similar responsibilities to the Appointments Committee.

Minutes of the Appointments Committee of Seddon Memorial Technical College and later the then named Auckland Technical Institute all placed on the same file in chronological order.

The committee was apparently responsible for dealing with new staff appointments; resignations; regrading; promotion; leaves of absence.

The committee consisted of the Chairman of the Council (or Board as it was previously called) of the Institute or of the Seddon Memorial Technical College; the Principal and Deputy Principal of the Institute or Seddon Memorial Technical College; a representative of the Department of Education; the Registrar; various other staff members.
