- Information found: Buie Harwood collection on decorative painting in Texas Web page (Buie Harwood, a distinguished interior designer, educator, and scholar; Buie Harwood received her MFA and BFA degrees in interior design from Louisiana Tech University and an interior design diploma from Ray-Vogue Schools. She studied in the Victorian Society Summer Schools in both Rhode Island and England. Harwood is a Professor Emeritus from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she previously served as interior design Department Chair for programs in Virginia and Qatar, and as the coordinator of the MFA graduate program. In 1973, Harwood became an associate professor at the University of Texas at Austin. During the summers of 1977-1981, Harwood taught at UT's Winedale Institute in Historic Preservation summer institute. After leaving the University of Texas in 1981, Harwood became an associate professor of interior design at North Texas State University)
