Dr. Mark Jackson is currently senior lecturer in theoretical studies on the Bachelor of Spatial Design degree, in the School of Art and Design. He also teaches on the Masters in Art and Design degree. His teaching practice focuses on developing pertinent relations between a broad arena of contemporary cultural philosophy and design practices. He reseived his PhD at the Faculty of Architecture, the university of Sydney in 1994, and was a visiting scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996. His research areas include:approach with respect to western and classical Chinese traditions as ththese inform an understanding of landscape design traditions. contemporary poststructuralist approaches to ethics in relation to orthodox western traditions of ethics in architecture. critical approaches to tof digital mediums in spatial design practices.
Dr. Jackson has presented his research internationally, at conferences and in publications. He has also made a number of films and video works related to his research that have been exhibited internationally.
