On 21 August 2006, three months later, thousands of mourners made their way back to Turangawaewae Marae to farewell their beloved leader. Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu: 1931-2006 is an edited version of the Māori Queen's tangi (funeral) that was broadcast live to the nation by Television New Zealand."
