Scope Note: An identified traditional fishing ground used for customary food gathering as defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 established under section 186 of the Fisheries Act 1992, for non-commercial or trade purposes. Managed by a committee made up of members authorised by the tāngata whenua of the area who may put bylaws in place to manage non-commercial fishing.
