Whakamārama: He āhuatanga kua hīpokina ai ki runga i ngā mahi kikino katoa, arā, ngā mate tūrorotanga, wharanga me ētahi atu mate pērā. Ahakoa e hāngai tonu ana te āhua o te kupu ki te matenga o tētahi mea, ka taea te pā atu ki ngā mate wharanga. Scope Note: A broad concept used nowadays to refer to death, disease, misfortune, and accidents. Although it is associated with death, it can also apply to injuries caused by accidents. In most cases, aituā relates to all kinds of misfortunes whether or not direct personal injury is involved.
