In 1896 the New Zealand Medical Association [no publs. in OCLC under original, pre- 1896 name] changed its name to British Medical Association. New Zealand Division [no publs. in OCLC]. In 1965 this became the British Medical Association. New Zealand Branch. In July 1967 this became the Medical Association of New Zealand. In Aug. 1976 this reverted to its original name of New Zealand Medical Association
From 1965-1973 a rival organisation of the same name existed under the auspices of Erich Geiringer
