- Information found: (About Ellen Landau, Dr. Landau is the author of Jackson Pollock (Abrams, 1989); Lee Krasner: A Catalogue Raisonné (Abrams, 1995); Reading Abstract Expressionism: Context and Critique (Yale, 2005); and Mexico and American Modernism (Yale, 2013) supported by NEH and Terra Foundation grants. She won the Cleveland Arts Prize in 1990 for Jackson Pollock, still in print. Dr. Landau has held numerous prestigious fellowships and won additional awards including CWRU's Diekhoff Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching (1993). She organized the print exhibition America in the War (Library of Congress, 1983), co-curated a joint retrospective of Pollock and Krasner (Kunstmuseum Bern,1989), and guest-curated Pollock Matters (McMullen Museum of Art, Boston College, 2007) and Mercedes Matter: A Retrospective (Sidney Mishkin Gallery, Baruch College, 2010), both of which traveled. Dr. Landau has also published numerous essays for a variety of American and international journals and museum catalogs, most recently Jackson Pollock: The Transitional Moment (J. Paul Getty Museum, 2014). Now an independent art historian and curator in Pasadena CA, she is very proud of her former students' many accomplishments)
