Initiated by the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 1981, Australian Perspecta is a series of biennial exhibitions held in Sydney, surveying the latest trends in Austraian art. The 1997 exhibition was presented by eighteen organisations as a "city-wide visual arts festival of exhibitions,conferences, performances and radio broadcasts".
