The photographs are about life in the Cook Islands, Samoa, Niue, Tokelau and Tonga. They portray as well as the Pacific Island communities in Auckland- the biggest Polynesian city in the world. The photos were taken during 1981-82 and make for a greater understanding of a large section of Polynesian people, their origins, environment, rituals and ceremonies--Page [i].
